Check out this video further below about my future work place in Nairobi. My assignment will be with the Mathare Childrens Fund. The fund provides school education for children in the Mathare slum – one of the biggest in Nairobi. Once the children finish high school they are unable to find a job and many of them are at risk to fall back on becoming criminal or drug addicts. The fund has created several initiatives in which they teach teenagers and young mothers in producing products or providing services like recycled Tetra Pak bags or being a guide for Nairobi city tours. To market these products and services they need marketing competence. My main task will be to transfer knowledge and competence to local project employees and members to help them grow their business and have a long-term source of income. Titus in the film below will be local counterpart on-site.
